Courtney Rich, M.A., CCC-SLP, Reg. CASLPO

Speech-Language Pathologist

Courtney is an experienced medical Speech-Language Pathologist with over 12 years of clinical experience supporting infants, children, and families across a wide range of healthcare and community settings. She holds a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology, as well as a Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Psychology.

For the majority of her career, Courtney worked in a children’s hospital, spending eight years in inpatient pediatric care across the NICU, acute care, maternity care, and PICU, in addition to outpatient pediatric services. She has also practiced in early intervention, elementary schools, virtual pediatric therapy, and adult hospital settings. These varied experiences allow her to approach feeding challenges through a comprehensive, medically informed lens, all while keeping family realities front and center.

Courtney’s interest in pediatric feeding and swallowing began early in her career and continued to deepen through years of hospital-based practice. However, her perspective shifted even further after becoming a parent herself and experiencing firsthand how overwhelming and isolating feeding challenges can feel during the early postpartum period. Navigating breastfeeding concerns with her own child reinforced how vulnerable this stage of life can be and how important it is to have knowledgeable, compassionate support during such a significant transition.

This combination of professional experience and personal insight shapes Courtney’s approach to care. She strives to be a steady, informed presence for parents during a time often filled with uncertainty, helping them understand why feeding feels difficult, what is developmentally appropriate, and how to move forward with confidence. Her goal is to provide feeding support that is practical, compassionate, and individualized, meeting families where they are and supporting them in ways that feel realistic and sustainable in everyday life.

Courtney has completed advanced training through Catherine Shaker Seminars in pediatric feeding and swallowing and is trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding. Her ongoing professional development remains heavily focused on infant feeding, TOTs (tongue & lip tie), breastfeeding, and medically complex presentations.

She is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Courtney lives in Stittsville, ON with her husband and two girls.
